The interior canvas is 100% waterproof and dustproof with blacked-out layers for maximum light blockage. A detachable thermal layer provides insulation during colder nights, and can be removed during summer for year-round comfort.

With better insulation, aerodynamics, and weather protection, they’re ideal for couples or solo travellers. The trade-off? Less interior space and usually a higher price point.
Expandable hard shells give you the best of both worlds — fast setup with a bit more room. They open like a regular clamshell but include an additional fold-out section to expand the sleeping area. You still get the strength and low-profile of a hard shell, just with more space inside. Slightly heavier, but worth it if you want comfort without the hassle.
